A Garden of family and friends.

The homeowner asked friends and family what their favorite plant is. And that’s how 26 plants were chosen. I added a few gems like the Diablo Nine Bark and dainty Jack Frost Brunnera and Saxifraga for the shade garden, and that green Japanese maple, but the idea was to meander on a simple path and remember each person with a tiny name tag. The view from the kitchen, living room and patio were key and I curated them to ensure every window looked out to something pretty. With no trees on site, there were four micro climates created by the house and fence which allowed us to fine tune the correct placement of plants to ensure they thrived with minimal aftercare. Irrigation goes on auto pilot to help during summer and a sloped native garden was planted beyond that black fence. This garden will mature to give dappled shade and respite for wildlife. If you have a special person to remember in a garden, let’s chat.
